4 HR Professionals Chose CIPD Level 5 in September: What Does the Qualification Include?

In September 2026, four professionals started CIPD qualifications: three chose the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management, and one chose the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organizational Learning and Development.

If you are an HR and L&D professional considering your next qualification, you should know the CIPD Level 5 course structure, curriculum, assignments, pass rate, and study duration.

What is the CIPD Level 5 qualification?

The CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma is an RQF Level 5 qualification aimed at professionals with experience in human resources, people practice, learning and development, training, or similar fields. The CIPD says that Associate Diplomas take between 12 and 16 months to complete.

• Evidence-Based Practice

• Professional Behaviors and Valuing People

• Support Informal and Self-Directed Learning

• Design Learning and Development Programs to Create Value

• Facilitate Structured Learning and Development Activities for Groups

• An additional specialist unit

It covers learning design, capability development, facilitation, learning needs, and organizational development.

Are there exams for CIPD Level 5?

These programs do not have any formal examinations; instead, assessment is based on assignments, comprising seven written assignments, one for each unit. Assignments may require you to address workplace scenarios, draft reports, conduct research, make evidence-based recommendations, engage in learning-design activities, and complete practical professional tasks.

What is the pass rate for the CIPD Level 5?

e-Careers currently has a 99% pass rate for both the Level 5 People Management and Organizational Learning & Development courses. Since this pass rate is provided by the provider and not a general CIPD pass rate statistic, learners should take it into account together with the tutor and assignment support on offer.

September Enrolments Show Growing Interest

The four enrolments in September show strong interest in professional development among those specialized in HR and L&D.
